Home Covid-19 Tests
Your insurance may cover up to 8 tests per member per month (if you can find them). Check with your insurance and/or prescription provider to learn more. One option that we have found is OptimumRX, which claims to be able to get tests to your house in 48 hours. Finding a home test for Covid-19 has become nearly impossible.

As you may have seen, each household is eligible to order four home test kits from the US Government. The delivery wait is longer than your isolation would be, so if interested do not wait until you need the test to order them.

This week's Covid-19 Case Count Summary
New positive cases this week: 2

New positive cases this week: 7

Cases traced to contact at school: 0
Students who missed school due to close contact at home:

Face coverings are currently required for all individuals in the school building at Messiah who are not able to maintain 6 feet of physical distance.

Isolation and close contact protocols in school settings (per LLCHD):

For Individuals That Test Positive for COVID-19 - ISOLATION
If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, they need to stay home for 5 days. The start of the days differs depending on if the person was symptomatic or asymptomatic. For a person who is asymptomatic, but tests positive, Day 0 is the date the sample was collected. For a person with COVID symptoms, Day 0 is the day the first obvious symptom occurred.
  • If they do not have symptoms or if symptoms are resolving (meeting the school’s regular illness criteria for returning to school), they can return to school on day 6. However, they must wear a well fitting mask through day 10 starting on the day the test sample was collected.
  • If a student or staff cannot wear a well fitting mask, they must be excluded and must isolate for 10 days.
Managing Close Contact Exposures – QUARANTINE
Students and staff do not have to be excluded if they have had a close contact exposure but must wear a mask for 10 days while at school or participating in school activities and should, if possible, be tested (PCR test) on day 5 after the exposure.
  • Students and staff who have on-going high-risk exposure to a positive individual who is unable to isolate (example: household) should remain at home until the positive individual completes 5 days of isolation. Extra vigilance on screening for symptoms when they return is advisable.
  • If symptoms develop, they must be excluded and be tested using a PCR test.
  • If a student or staff cannot wear a well fitting mask, they must be excluded for 10 days.
