‘NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK
We certainly made the most of promoting and celebrating
National Volunteer Week this year. As this was our first one, we decided to extend it out over 9 fun filled days!
From presentations at Wairarapa Literacy, to giving out Certificates of Appreciation to students at Solway Primary School and Masterton Intermediate School for
their volunteer service.
We had a fantastic turn out at our Volunteer Appreciation morning tea at the Masterton Town Hall supported by the Masterton District Council. We had volunteers representing 37 organisations.
A few volunteers from Plunket receiving their thank-you certificates.
With an information stall at both the Lions Car Boot Market, Farmers Market and a sausage sizzle outside Paper Plus. We certainly had some great community involvement during the week.
A big thank you to all those that Volunteered for the
Wairarapa Volunteer Centre over the week.
On the 18th August we celebrated our 1 year anniversary of being opened.
We had guest speaker Laurie Williams from VSA talk to us about volunteering in Solomon Islands. Scott Miller from VNZ and our
Mayor Lyn Patterson helped us cut our beautiful cake.
A big THANK YOU to our Volunteers, our Organisations, our Community and Sponsors who helped us celebrate.
