Yorkshire Universities Newsletter
2018/19 Autumn Issue

Since the start of the year

In recent months, Yorkshire Universities has gone through significant transition. Dr. Peter O'Brien took up the role as YU Executive Director in April and a new executive team was formed with him. The remit of the organisation has been refreshed, with a new strategic focus given to strengthening the role of universities in place-based development, which will be centred on three key priorities:
Along the way we consulted with many partners, and attended, represented, organised and spoke at a variety of events.  We used these conversations to help shape and define a new Operational Plan for 2018-19, which will guide our activity over the coming year. We improved our online presence, publishing a series of blogs, responding to national and local policy consultations, and making several contributions to ongoing projects with national and regional partners.
