Patriot Day (Saturday, September 11)
On this day 20 years ago, our country experienced a tragedy of a magnitude not seen since the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. Thousands of American lives were lost on American soil. We at the Village of Marvin hope you will take a moment of silence today to honor and remember those we lost.

Please Be Patient & Carpool to School
The Marvin Village Council and Staff know how difficult these first few days of school have been for parents and residents caught in school traffic.

Please be patient and carpool if you can. It will take time for the schools to adapt.
No Left Turns
Please remember that left turns onto Marvin Road from New Town Road are prohibited between the hours of 3:30pm - 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. Those needing to turn left onto Marvin Road must proceed to the roundabout at New Town and Waxhaw-Marvin Road and turn around.

Please see the map below for a depiction of this traffic regulation.
Tax Bills are Delinquent in January
2021 Tax Bills are delinquent in January. Union County will be collecting the Village's taxes from now on. You will receive one tax bill in the mail from Union County that itemizes your County and Local taxes.

The Marvin property tax rate for 2021 is unchanged from 2020, $0.06 per $100 of assessed value.

Marvin residents will see an additional charge of $61 on their tax bill. This charge is for solid waste and recycling services that will be provided for April, May, and June 2022.
Village Hall Time Capsule
The Marvin Village Council is considering interring a time capsule on the site of the new Village Hall when the project is complete.

If you have any ideas that you would like to share about this, including what to include and how long to inter the capsule, please respond to this email. Stay tuned for future updates.

Drive Carefully, School is In!
While driving through the Village, please watch for pedestrians and children at play. Be cognizant of pedestrians who may be crossing roadways near neighborhoods, schools, and walking trails.

With school resuming, it is imperative for the safety of our children to slow down!

By driving safely, we all help make our communities safer.
