Who's Running for Mayor & Council?
On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, Marvin voters will elect a Mayor (2-year term) and Three Council Members (4-year terms).

This election cycle the Village has offered a voluntary forum for candidates to introduce themselves.

Council Meeting Times
Please take note that regular meetings of the Village Council (2nd Tuesday of each month) will now begin at 6pm, instead of 6:30pm beginning at the August 10 meeting.

Tax Bills Will Be Sent Out Soon
2021 Tax Bills will be sent out soon! Union County will be collecting the Village's taxes from now on. You will receive one tax bill in the mail from Union County that itemizes your County and Local taxes.

The Marvin property tax rate for 2021 is unchanged from 2020, $0.06 per $100 of assessed value.

Marvin residents will see an additional charge of $61 on their tax bill. This charge is for solid waste and recycling services that will be provided for April, May, and June 2022.
Village Hall Time Capsule
The Marvin Village Council is considering interring a time capsule on the site of the new Village Hall when the project is complete.

If you have any ideas that you would like to share about this, including what to include and how long to inter the capsule, please respond to this email. Stay tuned for future updates.
Volunteer Opportunities
Looking for service hours? Want to make a difference in the community? We hope you will consider getting involved in the community by either serving on one of the Village's advisory boards or by volunteering at Marvin Efird Park.

Currently, there are the following board vacancies:
  • Parks, Recreation, and Greenways Board - 1 Seat
  • Marvin Heritage District Strategic Plan Committee - 2 Seat
  • Board of Adjustment, Regular Member - 1 Seat
If you are interested in serving on board, please contact the Village Clerk. If you are interested in volunteering at Marvin Efird Park or other volunteer opportunities, please contact Parks and Recreation.

No Left Turns
Please remember that left turns onto Marvin Road from New Town Road are prohibited between the hours of 3:30pm - 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. Those needing to turn left onto Marvin Road must proceed to the roundabout at New Town and Waxhaw-Marvin Road and turn around.

Notary Public Services
The Village of Marvin offers complimentary Notary Public services to Marvin residents. Our Notary Public on staff is Austin W. Yow, Village Clerk & Assistant to the Manager. Notary Public Services are by appointment only and are only offered to Marvin residents. Please email Austin to schedule an appointment.
