Roundabout Update:
Earlier this year, the Village of Marvin was informed of cost increases in the New Town/Marvin Road roundabout (RAB). Of course, this meant Marvin tax payers would have to pay more or push the project down the road further.

Both options were unacceptable to the Village Council. They diligently pleaded Marvin’s case to State legislators, County Commissioners, NCDOT, and the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization so the project would continue as planned and no increases in cost would be born to Marvin tax payers.

Through cooperation and strategic effort, the Village Council was able to secure an additional $105k appropriation directly from State legislators and an additional $362k from the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization. That’s right—that’s an additional $467k AND the project is now in acquisition phase with expectations of construction to start in 2022!

Thank you Marvin Village Council, Representative David Willis, and Senator Todd Johnson!
