Constitution Week (September 17-23)
At their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 14, the Mayor Pollino and the Village Council adopted a proclamation recognizing September 17-23 as Constitution Week.

Early Voting for Municipal Elections
Early voting for the 2021 municipal elections will take place from Thursday, October 14 until Saturday, October 30.

Voting Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8am - 6pm.

Note: The only weekend early voting will be on Saturday, October 30 from 8am until 3pm.

Fall Town Hall Meeting - Save the Date!
The Marvin Fall Town Hall Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 14 at 6:30pm at the Barn at Marvin Efird Park.

As the meeting will be at the Park, there will be no virtual attendance option.

Please save the date and join us to learn about all that the Village is working on! Please stay tuned for more details!
Union County Master Gardeners - Free Composting Class
The Union County Master Gardeners are holding a free 1.5 hour composting class on September 25 from 1:30-3:00pm at Roots Farm (540 Providence Road, Weddington, NC 28173).

The class will contain information on various types of composting, what kitchen scraps and brown matter can be used for composting, and what composter will work best for you. There will be a raffle for 5 kitchen waste bins.

WUMA Meeting
WUMA or The Western Union Municipal Alliance was formed in 2020 to study, investigate, advocate for, and promote regional issues affecting towns in the Western Union County area, including land use planning, transportation, economic development, etc. Currently the alliance includes delegates from the elected boards of Weddington, Marvin, Wesley Chapel, Mineral Springs, and Stallings.

Meetings are held every 4th Thursday of the month at 4pm. The location rotates between towns. The next meeting will be held Thursday, September 23 at 4pm at Wesley Chapel Village Hall.
Volunteer Opportunities
Looking for service hours? Want to make a difference in the community? We hope you will consider getting involved in the community by either serving on one of the Village's advisory boards or by volunteering at Marvin Efird Park.

Currently, there are the following board vacancies:
  • Parks, Recreation, and Greenways Board - 1 Seat
Attention Younger Residents (18+): Please volunteer! Serving on advisory boards or volunteering at the park is a great way to develop a resume and contribute to the community!

If you are interested in serving on board, please contact the Village Clerk. If you are interested in volunteering at Marvin Efird Park or other volunteer opportunities, please contact Parks and Recreation.

Drive Carefully, School is In!
While driving through the Village, please watch for pedestrians and children at play. Be cognizant of pedestrians who may be crossing roadways near neighborhoods, schools, and walking trails.

Now that school is back in session, please slow down for the safety of our children!

The Village of Marvin offers complimentary Notary Public services to Marvin residents. Our Notary Public on staff is Austin W. Yow, Village Clerk & Assistant to the Manager. Notary Public Services are by appointment only and are only offered to Marvin residents. Please email Austin to schedule an appointment.
