From August 2022, you can get free Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) at Queensland Health RAT distribution points if you are eligible. this includes people seeking asylum in Queensland and recently arrived from Ukraine.

CALD COVID Health Engagement Project (CCHEP) 
  • CCHEP continues to work with communities in various community led initiatives across QLD
  • Following the recent announcement from QH on the free RAT kits for various groups, CCHEP has been working with stakeholders to facilitate access to these free RAT kits at various touchpoints in the community
  • CCHEP together with partners have contracted QUT to conduct an evaluation of the reciprocal engagement approach of working with and supporting CALD communities during the pandemic. Data collection is ongoing; this process also includes trained bicultural workers who are peer researchers in this evaluation
  • CCHEP is also in the process of development of a CALD communities engagement framework based on the learnings from COVID

Toolkit for young people interested in research and co-research

A toolkit was developed by young people, researchers and partners of the Centre for Resilient and Inclusive Societies (CRIS), including MYAN’s Victorian partner organization CMY. It was identified as one key way to build effective youth participation in research about the issues that impact young people’s lives.

Culture and identity relevant health responses to domestic and family violence - 4 October 2022

New training is being offered as part of Brisbane South PHN's Recognise, Respond, Refer (RRR) program, focusing on responding to domestic and family violence (DFV) through a trauma-informed, culturally aware and intersectional lens. This is a RACGP 40 CPD point accredited activity for completion of all 4 sessions and activities. It is open to all general practice staff and it is possible to attend individual sessions.
