Statewide Webinar - Queensland's CALD COVID Response


GPs and general practice staff joined a facilitated hypothetical, exploring the challenges that people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, including refugees and migrant workers, are facing during the pandemic. Watch it here.

New COVID-19 Multicultural Telehealth Service

COVID-19 Telehealth service for people from CALD backgrounds residing within the greater Brisbane region. This service is now live! People can call 1300 079 020 and speak to a nurse in their own language about questions relating to COVID-19. This service is available 9:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

Resources for Clinicians
Access to treatment for people ineligible for Medicare with HIV
From 1st July, 2022 people with HIV who are ineligible for Medicare, and previously received HIV medication through compassionate access schemes, will be required to transition to alternative access arrangements to receive government-funded treatment.
They will soon be able to access their treatment free of charge through government-funded hospital pharmacies.

Translated Appointment tool- 14 New Languages added
14 New Languages have been added to the NSW Translated Appointment Tool that can be used to assist health services with sending translated messages (including SMS) to patients. One of the added languages, includes  Ukrainian which means there are now 64 languages with 15 appointment types available.

Migrant voices needed for Australia's largest study on womens health

Thousands of migrant women are needed to provide invaluable data for the largest and longest-running women’s health study ever conducted in Australia. To be eligible for the study, women must be born between 1973 and 1978 and have a Medicare card.
