Partner Architects
Greetings, Friend!

“Buildings preach,” says architect Ross Lackey. He believes that intentional architectural design can effectively promote everything from community values to religion.

“YWAM ministries deserve the kinds of spaces that adequately support their efforts as part of God’s redemptive work in the world,” he says. So in May of this year, Ross aligned his brand new ministry, Partner Architects, with MBI, because they share a common goal: so others may thrive.

Welcome Ben Scott!

Ben Scott recently joined MBI’s team to assist with accounting/business administration and upcoming special projects. He previously served with YWAM ministries in Perth, Australia, in Denver, CO, and in Homer, AK. Ben brings with him his experience in communications, business management, and logistics and his love for all things outdoors—fishing, hunting, and sports.

Welcome also to Ben’s wife Izzy (who will serve as staff with YWAM Lakeside, MT) and their daughter Kelsey!
MBI Network Partner

YWAM Ica, Peru: established to respond locally to the devastating 2007 earthquake so that others might “see and receive the heart of Jesus through the love we can deliver.” Local focus: evangelism, children, youth, long-term ministry to men and women, construction and home repair for widows and single mothers, dental and medical programs. Practical volunteer needs: facilities maintenance, scheduling, accounting, driving, cooking, translating, team construction, general assistance.

Helping Others Thrive
As strange as events are today—from pandemics to politics—and whatever tomorrow may bring, there’s one thing we must know: we’re all going to die, and no one is exempt!
Despite our seemingly dire circumstances, with the sky repeatedly falling (as the media would have us believe), we have the most significant opportunity today to “just show up” and be the light of Christ to those losing hope. MBI and Christians everywhere have a job to do until the Lord returns. That’s why I believe we live in the best of times! Rather than shrink back, MBI continues to reach out and offer practical tools and the staff and volunteers to wield them, whether to help a lone missionary or an entire YWAM ministry location.

MBI’s history is rooted in architectural services. The first Mission Builder volunteer was professional architect Jim Miller, who helped design the YWAM training center in Kona, Hawaii. So MBI is very excited to reintroduce this element of its ministry, which resulted in active training centers being built in several nations that continue to serve in training and sending missionaries today. For these reasons, it’s a joy to welcome Ross Lackey and his future team as well as new staff members like Ben Scott—to help others thrive!    Read more
