Let's celebrate the change agents
pushing new frontiers in open budgets

As we look to renew democracies globally, our mission to expand spaces for everyday citizens to have a say in how public funds are spent is critical.

Today is International Anti-Corruption Day and the start of the Summit for Democracy (followed by the Open Government Partnership Global Summit). These are important venues to advance commitments to combat corruption and renew public trust in government. We also know that if we are to make meaningful progress on the Summits' commitments we need to invest long-term in national and local accountability actors to ensure public monies reach their intended purpose of serving the public good.

That is why today we launched an interactive space to showcase change agents who are advancing new frontiers to make government spending more inclusive and accountable.  Auditors, legislators, civil society groups and social movements are all doing their part to carve out spaces to inform decisions around public spending.

You can learn about their work here. Join the conversation on social media using content from our toolkit and the hashtags #OpenBudgets #SummitforDemocracy #OGPSummit.
