Boston Emissions Returns With New Music Series, Boston Proper
Radio Host Anngelle Wood Takes Long-Running Music Program Into The Future
Boston, Mass | August 9, 2018 — When Boston Emissions left the airwaves in May after a legendary 30-plus years on the FM dial — first at 104.1 WBCN and later on 100.7 WZLX — host Anngelle Wood looked at it as an opportunity to carry the show into the future. After 10 years as host, music director, and producer of the annual Rock & Roll Rumble, Wood knew her days serving the local music community were far from over.
This Fall, Wood launches Boston Emissions with Anngelle Wood online. Made independently, plans are underway to take it on the road (when not producing the show at the home she shares with five rescue dogs) and reach out to more of the community.
“FM radio is a blast. I love every minute of it. I still get to do it. But looking at what technology affords me and what I can do in the digital world is very exciting. The new Boston Emissions will take us into local studios and living rooms for live sessions, host special events, feature special interviews (a separate interview podcast is planned), and bring live rock back to the heart of the city,“ says Wood, who launches a brand new music series, Boston Proper, on August 30 at Hennessey’s Upstairs, across from Boston City Hall. “Some of my best memories in my earliest days of Boston music were going to shows IN Boston proper — Mama Kin, The Rat, Bill’s Bar, The Linwood. I miss that. With your help, we will build this new series, feature great bands and introduce brand new ones.”
As for the radio show, expect the all new, fan supported music program in September and live shows booked through the fall.
