"Pontis is Ready, Are You? "
<<First Name>>, maybe you have looked at Model Farm, the Pontis newsletters, and thought "Pontis does some great things but the model seems pretty small.  Can we grow?"  There are three answers to this question:
  1. YES
  2. The time is NOW
  3. But only with Your HELP
Omar David, Studying Hard to be a Pontis Tech
Omar David grew up in a very poor family and poverty would have continued for his wife and kids had he not joined the Pontis Sustainable Agriculture Program in Ometepe, Nicaragua.  But God had a bigger plan for Omar David than just better crops and an enterprise farm for his family.  Omar David felt the call to learn how to share his successes with sustainable agriculture and enterprise farm business with other families.

Omar David is in the year-long Pontis Technician course with six other trainees.  Because of you, we can pay these seven future trainers to join Ernesto three days per month for intensive classroom, field, and farm training.

The technician course ends in December of this year and, if we have the support, 5-6 new trainers will join the Pontis team.  That means, instead of providing for 70-100 families at one time, like we do now, your support will provide training for 200-250 families at a time.
...but only with YOUR HELP
It will cost about $6,000 per year to provide Omar David with a salary, health care plan, transportation, phone, and supplies to teach Pontis Sustainable Agriculture to 10-15 poor small farm families.

What a great value!  For $6,000 per year Omar David will be the key leader and mentor for 10-15 families, 40-50 people, who work their way out of poverty using Pontis Sustainable Agriculture.  That is why you and the Pontis model are so powerful.

Without your support, though, those families will continue in the cycle of poverty.  You are the key part of the Pontis plan.

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and “you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”                    Jesus Christ, Matt 11:28-29
