Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon Citizens Advice

Hello and welcome to our April e-newsletter. As we enter the new financial year, our focus remains the same- helping those in the community with free, confidential advice. We have recently been successful in a National Bid to enter a second phase of email and webchat advice which is fast becoming a popular communication channel with our clients. Keep reading for more details and find us on Facebook and Twitter.

Fundraising Volunteers Needed!

   

Our Charity occasionally does collections at local Supermarkets to fundraise and raise awareness of our Charitable status. If you are interested in volunteering to shake a bucket for our cause, or know someone who might be, please email info@ruraldevoncab.org.uk

These collections have so far raised over £2,000 for Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon Citizens Advice and are a great way to let the local community know about our services- plus if you're ever in Tiverton Tesco you are kept company by their resident cat, Mango!
 

  

Okehampton Town Council Grant

A big thank you to Okehampton Mayor, Paul Vachon and the rest of Okehampton Town Council for their generous grant of £3,500. This money will help to support our Okehampton service to enable residents of the town and surrounding areas to access free, confidential and impartial advice.

 


 


TNMWD Citizens Advice  are currently run this project in-house our four Districts with Welfare Officers based in our Bideford and Barnstaple Offices.

We have 4 paid members of staff who advise people affected by cancer and other life-limiting conditions on their benefit entitlements.

Dan has been with Citizens Advice for 5 and a half years now, having started out as admin support on a short term contract with 'Future Jobs Fund'. He has since undertaken many volunteer and paid roles, from Admin to Adviceline Operator, Adviser and now onto Supervisor. His favourite part of the job is the fantastic team of volunteers he gets to work with!

 

How can I get advice?



 

“I recently lost my job and fell behind on several bills. I’m back in work and keen to start paying off my debts, but can’t afford to pay them all straight away.
