New Session at "La Escuelita"

"La Escuelita" - the after-school project directed by Kristin is off to a great start with 30 children in attendance in different classes Monday-Thursday.  Kristin is keeping a more than full schedule and others from the family lend assistance as available.  New this year is a pre-school class (4 of6 students pictured above) taught by Anita and a budgeting and money management class for older children (and a mom) taught by Alyssa.  For more details on "La Escuelita" sign up for Kristin's updates by sending her a request at the address on the bottom of this newsletter.
Dale has been keeping busy making improvements to the 2nd group home mentioned in last month's newsletter.  One of the most gratifying projects was designing and having a fiberglass tub built that will make bathing children much easier for the staff.  He also got to work with wood a bit as he built a wheelchair ramp to the bathroom and a privacy wall for the bathing area.  He is thankful for the help of Michael Gross and others that show up to lend a hand.

Women's Bible Study

Anita has been leading a Bible Study for Missionary Women.  They wrapped up the spring study with a breakfast together at a local restaurant last week and look forward to continuing their study of Romans in the Fall.

Dale and Anita were blessed to attend a marriage retreat for missionary couples!!  The weekend retreat was a much-needed time of refocus, renewal and reflection!  We are so thankful for the generosity and effort that made this gift of time to celebrate US possible!
Family, Prayer and Praise Updates
Maybe you've noticed the BLUE theme of this newsletter!  Well, that is because we are now looking at the world through blue-colored glasses as we prepare to meet our grandson, Everhett Reid Beyer due in mid-October.

The "family" photo at the top includes 2 extras.  Extra on the left is Luis Barrundia- Alyssa's boyfriend.  Last month we asked prayer that he would find a job with a ministry.  May 1st he began a position with Students International as a Sponsorship Coordinator and he loves it!!!  Praise God for His provision and leading.  Extra #2 is Noe Chan - Kathlyn's boyfriend.  These  young men are included this month to have faces with names and we ask that you keep these 2 couples in your prayers as they seek to honor and glorify God in and with their relationships.

Our family is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Melanie Voehler (Tennessee) who arrives in 2 days and will be staying with us until mid-July.  She will be the 1st short-term volunteer to come to work with Kristin in "La Escuelita"  Please keep her in your prayers as she adjusts to life and ministry here (and us!!) and join us in praising God for His provision of much-needed help for Kristin!

As mentioned before Kristin now has 30 students - more than double from last year.  She is looking at and praying about moving to a larger space which would make space for the computer lab and classroom and activity space for the school as well as offices for our family - space our home doesn't have.  Please pray for us in this decision making process!

Hope for Home now has an incredible expanded staff to meet the needs of the ever expanding ministry!  However, our need for interns has doubled with the opening of the 2nd group home.  The Lord has amazed us in the past by His supply and we continue to rely on His leading and prompting to begin the application process with interested parties.  If you or someone that you know may be willing to consider giving a 3-6 month term of service in the care of precious special -needs children please contact Anita  at the e-mail address below and she will gladly send information your way!

All 5 of us are now connected to Whatsapp and have found that the most effective way to communicate by voice with family and friends in the US.  You can find our numbers at the bottom on this newsletter.

As always we are so thankful for your interest, prayers and support for our family as we follow the Lord's leading and serve in San Antonio Aguas Calientes, Guatemala!

By His grace and for His glory,

Dale, Antia, Kristin, Kathlyn and Alyssa
