Welcome to my newsletter. I hope that this will serve as an effective way to keep the residents and stakeholders of the Hampden District informed of the work being done in the Massachusetts Senate and across the Commonwealth.
If I can ever be of assistance to you or your family, please contact me at my district office.
I am very excited to announce that on January 5th myself and Rep Mike Finn will be hosting "West Side Salutes the T-Birds!" This event will offer special a ticket deal to watch the Springfield Thunderbirds play the Providence Bruins. As a massive hockey fan I am obviously excited to watch our T-Birds, but as your Senator I am even more excited about getting the opportunity to meet and connect with you at this fun, family friendly event. Legislative News

September was an eventful month for the legislature and October continued the trend. We kept working on outstanding legislative issues, looking in particular at improving civics education in schools.
Back in July, both branches unanimously passed a Civics Education Bill. When it was sent to Governor Baker's desk he eventually returned it to the legislature with an amendment. This month, the legislature sent the bill back to the Governor, including some of his amendment's language while maintaining the original intent of the bill. If signed into law, this bill will represent a step forwards in modernizing public education, focusing on preparing our students to be productive and involved members of society.
