Fifth Sunday of Easter

This week at Holy Spirit Parish, we continue to celebrate the joy of the Easter season.

Today, Friday, in the month of May -  a month dedicated to Mary - we celebrate the Memorial of Our Lady of Fatima. The bishops of the United States have invited all of the faithful to fast and pray the Rosary for our nation, for legal protection of all human life, for conversion of minds and hearts, for strong and welcoming marriages and families, and for the Church's efforts to provide for the needs of mothers and families in need.

As we seek to live out Our Lord's commandment in the Gospel this weekend: "love one another" (Jn 13:34), let us ask Our Lady of Fatima to cover all of our works with her Son's Divine assistance.

Every family needs the support of ALL its members to thrive - and our parish family is no different. To thrive as a parish family, we have many needs that must be fulfilled. It takes the dedication of the whole family working together to fill all of the needs of the parish. Check out the video on IGNITE, a program to support parish vitality by bringing awareness to these unmet needs. Then, take a minute after Mass to view the IGNITE boards at each church. Discern what needs of the parish you are able to help fulfill! If you take a flame, please expect follow-up calls from the parish office soon!

Great Give Day

Holy Spirit Parish is participating in this exciting online giving day hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque—and we invite you to join us!

Great Give Day is a wonderful opportunity for our parish to raise dollars and share our mission with the community.  Dollars raised will be used to supplement our fund to refurbish the stained glass windows at Holy Trinity and complete other capital improvement projects.

Your giving will go further as your gift goes directly to our organization and helps us qualify for additional prize dollars.

It’s FUN! Great Give Day brings our community together to celebrate and support local nonprofits.

Go to on Wednesday, May 18 and look for Holy Spirit Parish on the leaderboard. Make a gift of $10 or more and spread the word in person and on social media! (Or schedule your gift ahead of time beginning May 16.)
Hospice of Dubuque - Tree of Life

Join us on Tuesday, May 24, in Washington Park at 7:30pm. Anyone may purchase a light in memory or honor of a loved one. Make your donations ASAP to ensure it included in the program. Please send your gift to: Hospice of Dubuque, 1670 JFK Road, Dubuque IA 52002 or visit for details.
