Dear Founders' Circle members,
We did it!
It took us just seven months from our launch to our first grant. Now 150 young people who are aging out of foster care, homeless or coming out of the juvenile justice system have support to successfully complete high school and the first year of college.

Congratulations to Gateway to College's PDXBridge Project,
our first $100,000 Impact Award Winner!!

Check out this Oregonian story:
Portland's '99 girlfriends' give $100K to help homeless, foster & convicted youth in college

Erikka Pitts, a Gateway to College alum, joined us at our Dec 7th Award Celebration. Click here to hear her inspiring story of transitioning out of years of foster care and finding the Gateway to College program. (It's only 1.19 mins long. She's incredible.)

To top off our Celebration, Julia Brim-Edwards, one of our founding members, offered to sponsor Erikka as a ninety-nine girlfriend for 2017. She accepted on the spot! We love our big-hearted girlfriends.
Can we grow to 200 girlfriends in 2017? We think we can.

If so, we will give two $100,000 grants next year.
Three ways to get us to 200: Founders' Circle Members Rejoin, Invite Friends, Sponsor a Member:
Hey Founder's Circle members. Are you in for 2017?  Let us know! Fill out the "I'm in for 2017" form located on our website. Contributions are due by May 15, 2017. And if you send your ninety-nine girlfriends contribution for 2017 by Dec 31st this year, it will count as a 2016 tax deductible contribution for you. Click here for the form. It's a super short and easy. The mailing address is on the form.

FYI - We can accept contributions from donor advised funds this year.
Lyn Bonyhadi invited Joan Fondell to join last year. This year Joan is hosting a ninety-nine girlfriends World Cafe Orientation for new & potential members. That's how it works. This is truly a collective effort, a "friends inviting friends" organization. Encourage your friend, sister or mother to join next year. Invite them to:
1) A World Cafe Orientation (See dates below)
2) Our 2017 Launch event - Wed, April 26
3) Or just ask them to sign up by filling out an "I'm In for 2017" form
Is there someone in your life who would like to be a part of the ninety-nine girlfriends and could use some support in order to join? Consider a sponsorship! We had several sponsored members this year and hope to have more next year. Click here to read about sponsoring a member and to find the link to the sponsored member agreement form

2017 Launch Party

Wed, April 26, 2017. Doors open at 5pm.
This event will be a lot of fun and a great way to kick off our next grant cycle.
We are looking for a donated space that seats 200 where we can bring potluck items or have a catered meal. Let us know if you have a lead on a space. We keep our administrative expenses extremely low through member donations for events. Email Jinx at if you can help! Thanks.
Plan to bring your girlfriends!
If you would like to make an end of year gift to any of our four wonderful Finalist Award winners, we're making it easy. Here are the donate links on their websites.
Ninety-nine girlfriends is an all volunteer effort. It is an organization built on friends inviting friends. We are grateful for the fiscal sponsorship of GRANTMAKERS of Oregon and Southwest Washington for hosting our project.  Can 200 women have real impact in our community? You bet we can.
