Educational Opportunities in 2017
Dear girlfriends,
Thanks to our Member Education team, there will be more ways to learn and get involved with ninety-nine girlfriends 2017. If you would like to discover more about philanthropy, issues in our community, or meet amazing women, consider joining a study team, attending our Discovery Forum or going even deeper. See details below.
1. Join a Community Study Team
COMMUNITY STUDY TEAMS STARTING!  Find out what's happening in our community, what gaps exist, and who's taking the lead on issues that we care about.  It will be about an 8 to 12 hour commitment from March through June that includes talking with experts and presenting at Discovery Forum. Interested? Organizing meeting Monday Feb 27 5:30-7:30 pm at Lisa Adatto's home in Lake Oswego. Contact  or for details. Click here for overview.
2. Come to the Discovery Forum. Take our doodle poll to help choose when it will be held.

Last year our Discovery Forum was held as a Monday morning event at Nordia House.  Members loved the program, but we heard mixed reactions about the timing. This year we want to hear from you about whether we should schedule a lunch time or an evening event. Answer this doodle poll to let us know your preference. Click here.
3. Sign-up for grantmaking workshops
Our fiscal sponsor, GRANTMAKERS of Oregon and SW Washington, invites all ninety-nine girlfriend members to the extraordinary events they host - all at member prices. UPCOMING EVENTS:

Equity, Inclusion, and Connecting with Community in Family Philanthropy -Thursday, March 9, 9am-11am

Grantmaking for the 21st Century  Monday, March 15-16, 8:30-4pm, $275 for both days

To sign up go to:  Each girlfriend will need to set up a unique user ID & password before accessing the members-only portion of the GOSW website, including program registration. Our organization ID number is 001i000001jVzGdAAK. Enjoy!
4. (bonus) And now if you want to dive even deeper...
The national organization that we belong to, the Women's Collective Giving Network, is hosting their annual conference March 12-14 in Jacksonville, Fl. You are invited as a member of ninety-nine girlfriends. You have to go on your own dime, but it is invaluable if you would like to meet the national leaders and learn the latest on the women's collective giving network. FYI - Deborah Edward is going and still needs a roommate! Email Deborah if you are interested in going at
And finally, a few quick notes:
  • Gateway to College, our first grantee, has launched PDX Bridge! Yay! They are having an open house. Come meet some of the students on March 15 at noon at their open house. To RSVP click here.
  • If you would like to continue on a grant review team, or join a team this year, email Eileen at
  • If you have a friend who would like to join, invite her to a ninety-nine girlfriends World Cafe Orientation. Email Jinx at and she'll send an evite.
  • If you are a renewing member and haven't sent in your membership form in for 2017, click here to find and print the  "I'm in for 2017" form so we can count you in!
Below is a great picture from our summer social featuring renewing members: Julia, Serena and Pip. If you look closely, you can see Laura in the background.
This is a really meaningful and joyful venture. We look forward to an exciting second year.  Yours in collective action, Eileen, Deborah, Jinx and Erin
