Dear Chintimini Family,

It is with mixed feelings I ring in this new year with you. After 30 years in the field of wildlife rehabilitation, I have decided to move on to the next chapter of my life and am retiring. Chintimini Wildlife Center has been my passion—my life—and I will miss it. On the other hand, I’m ready for some personal time and look forward to other pursuits such as exploring and spending time in the great outdoors that I love so much. I’m also excited to see the next generation of wildlife stewards continue what I started in their own way.

Chintimini accomplished a great deal during my tenure as Executive Director. From very humble beginnings (see the video on our website for a brief history of Chintimini), we have grown and expanded into one of the most exceptional wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education centers in the northwest. We have been open every day for the last 27 years to receive orphaned or injured wildlife, and to assist the community when they encounter wild animals in need. Also, through our Education Programs, we have reached thousands of people and increased public awareness and appreciation of wildlife.

As I look back on all that has been accomplished, there is one thing that truly stands out. Through Chintimini, a dedicated group of individuals has become a community that not only cares about our animals, our environment, and our planet, but has chosen to act on that value by giving their time, money, and energy in support of our mission. You are an integral part of that community.

Thank you for helping to make the dream of Chintimini a reality. Because of your support, I have had the privilege of spending my time in the company of inspiring wild creatures, as well as the people who work with them.  You made it all possible. And in so doing prove that together we can make a difference in what sometimes seems like a chaotic world.

You have made Chintimini extraordinary, and I will miss this special place. But I'm sure I will poke my head in now and then to see what's going on. Maybe they'll even let me handle an animal or two from time to time. But for now, I think I’ll go for a hike...

For the animals,
Jeff

P.S.   Now, I know you are all going to lose sleep over what to get me for a retirement gift, so I will make it easy for you. I ask that you keep the dream of Chintimini going for me. Keep the vision of a caring place for injured wildlife thriving in our community. Thank you, for all that you do for our wildlife.
To the many of you who have donated already,

Thank You!

Your gift will provide critical support to our wild neighbors in the coming year. Your dedication to protecting and celebrating wildlife inspires us to serve the animals in our care every single day. We truly can't thank you enough.
