Wildlife Rehabilitation
Recent Patients

Summer is in full swing and this has been an exceptionally busy year! We have admitted over 1,400 patients so far this year. No wonder we're tired!

Take a look at some of our recent patients:

Sometimes even the tiniest of patients are brought to us! This young hummingbird came to us after being discovered on the ground, its nest accidentally removed during a tree trimming project.

If you see a young bird who’s fallen from a nest, please give us a call! We can provide step-by-step instructions for how to proceed based on each scenario - oftentimes a young bird is able to be successfully reunited with its parents.

We’ve had two orphaned Grey Fox kits admitted to us recently. This young male is growing well and is thriving in our wildlife nursery!

Eagle Rescue

We had the honor of re-nesting a juvenile Bald Eagle last month! It was a collective effort of many caring individuals to make it happen, but the eagle was successfully reunited with its sibling and parents on June 20 - We couldn't be more thrilled!

We admitted the young eagle after it was found on the ground under the nest, critical and non-responsive. CWC's animal care staff worked diligently to stabilize the eagle with the hopes of returning it to its nest as soon as possible.

With the help of Pacific Power, land owners, and our staff veterinarian Dr. Claire Peterson, we were able to get the eagle back up to its nest and watch the parents care for it once again. We will continue to monitor the nest to ensure this continues to be a successful reunion.

A huge thank you to everyone involved with this rescue mission and eagle family reunion!
