Thank you to all our friends, customers and readers who have made Spellbinder your source for books over this year.

We're adding some later hours this year in the days leading up to Christmas ... we have tons of books and other wonderful gifts available and arriving all week!  Check out our facebook page, where we post pictures of many of the goodies as they arrive.

We're also placing book orders daily, up through 11am on Friday, that should arrive by Tuesday afternoon, although things like the weather and UPS are beyond our control.

And, we still have our free gift wrapping for your bookstore purchases on offer ... make your selections, then relax and  treat yourself to a delicious lunch at the Pupfish while we make your presents all pretty.  Let us help you work your way through that list!

Now let's talk about a couple of cool things that we, as people who love books and love our community, have been able to do this season ...
The Wish Tree was a great success this year!  Many of you came in, selected 'ornaments', and contributed gifts for children.  Some of you very cleverly came in and bought books during Children's Book Week, when books were 40% off thanks to Altrusa's generous partnership with us.  And others donated books throughout the year, unneeded Reader's Rewards coupons, and unused book credit ... all of these were tracked so that we could in turn give IMACA more than $700-worth of books to add to gifts for children this year.  With over 150 local children qualifying for participation in the program, together we made a big difference!
This year we held our 20th Annual Benefit Shopping Day for ICARE's Stitch Fund.  The money raised goes to assist animals who arrive at the shelter in need of medical care.  This year, we raised over $2,500.00, and over the 20 years of the program, have contributed over $30,000.00 to the fund!  Lisa Schade, ICARE co-founder and CFO, reports that this year's first recipent of the Shopping Day funds has already been identified: an adult kitty who found himself trapped in barbed wire, requiring many stiches, and then, about 10 days later, treatment for a horrible infection that had developed.  Thanks to you, this sweet fellow is on the mend and will get the second chance he deserves.

We thank you, again, for your decision to support Bishop's locally-owned, independent bookstore this year.  Next year is a very special one for us: our 50th Birthday!  Keep your eyes on your inbox in 2020 for announcements of all the fun we have planned ...
