November 2018 Update!

I wanted to let you guys see pictures and hear in my own voice all that God has done this year, so I filmed a short video update for you to watch! The video includes updates on Lighthouse Young Adult Ministry, Love Alaska and its initiatives, as well as prayer requests. Please take 5 or so minutes to watch and pray with me over Alaska!

(Also, please excuse all of the plane noise! I filmed about a mile away from Lake Hood, which happens to be the world's busiest seaplane landing base
. With it being such a pretty day, the air traffic was especially busy that day!)

Orphan Sunday Report
SIX ALASKAN CHURCHES ARE NOW ORPHAN SUNDAY AMBASSADORS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!
Orphan Sunday 2018 had 2,260 global observances! Praise God for moving in the hearts of His people!
As I mentioned in my last update, my Chosen/Love Alaska teammate Leslie and I were asked to take on the roles of official Orphan Sunday Coordinators for the state of Alaska. We worked for several months reaching out to pastors across the state to introduce them to ways to support the global work of the Church on behalf of orphans and foster care kids. Additionally, we invited Alaskan churches for the first time to participate in the global awareness day known as Orphan Sunday (November 11). Praise the Lord for moving in the hearts of churches! For the first time ever, the state of Alaska had six churches and ministries participating in Orphan Sunday! One church even dedicated the whole month of November to highlight the work of Chosen as part of its Orphan Sunday celebration!

As Leslie and I prayed and worked on this effort, we knew that God would move in the right hearts to introduce this movement in our state. We watched as the official global map on the Orphan Sunday website grew from zero dots in Alaska to a small cluster in Anchorage and even a dot representing a church we spoke with in Fairbanks! Six may sound small, but when we consider that the state of Alaska has been empty every year for dots on the map, we recognize God's hand in changing the course of Alaska's youth from now on because His Church here is waking up and getting engaged! Join us in praising God over His work on Orphan Sunday in Alaska and worldwide!
