D.P. Smyth Cup - Saturday 14th August

This coming Saturday, August 14th, sees the return of our annual 'D.P. Smyth Cup'. St. Mary's College RFC, Terenure RFC, Clontarf RFC and Tallaght RFC will all face off to see who will be this year's winner!

Best of luck to our lads - the cup kicks off at 12pm with the final taking place just after 2pm!

St. Mary's College RFC:
Leinster Youth Representatives

St. Mary's College RFC had two representatives playing last Friday in Donnybrook - Senan Phelan playing with the Leinster U18’s youth team, against team-mate Ben Howard who was playing for the Leinster U18’s school's team!

Senan had a flawless first half but their team was out-gunned by a strong school's side who made it extremely difficult to break through a well-disciplined defence. Ben played in the 2nd half and was a force to be reckoned with on the pitch!

All in all it was great to see crowds in the stands again and a great warm-up game for the upcoming interprovincials - well done lads - keep doing us proud!

St. Mary's College RFC Golf Classic 2021

The 2021 St. Mary's College RFC Golf Classic will take place on Friday September 3rd at the Castle Golf Club at 10:30am - 12:30pm / 2pm - 4pm.

There will be tea & coffee plus a goodie bag on arrival, with a meal taking place after completion of the round in the Castle clubhouse.

To take part or for more information please contact Declan Fanning, Frank Kennedy, Marie Hammond, David Donohoe, Niall Rynne or Ronnie McBrien

St. Mary's College RFC Junior Rugby Recruitment

This year's Junior Rugby campaign will kick off in just a few short weeks when our lads have their first cup games, followed shortly thereafter by the Leinster Leagues.

Our Junior Rugby setup caters for all levels, from beginners to players with years of experience. We're always looking for new players and anyone who would like to join would be more than welcome.

If you or someone you know would like to take part and join one of our Junior teams, then please email:

harryebbs@hotmail.com or mgoflaherty@gmail.com

St. Mary's College RFC U20s are back!

Last week saw our U20s return to training. Pre-season has officially begun for our U20s lads and it's great to see them back in action!

If you or someone you know is interested in playing 20s this years, make sure to email us at under20@smcrfc.com

U20s is a great way to get involved in the club and a huge portion of our 1st XV squad came up from the the U20s - you could be the next player to follow in their footsteps!
'Give It a Try'

St. Mary's College RFC are proud to have brought the Canterbury 'Give It A Try' program to Templeville Road from Wednesday the 28th of July from 6pm to 7pm - it is now running every Wednesday for 8 weeks.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any girls interested in trying rugby in a safe and fun environment. The course is designed to introduce girls to the sport of rugby through non-contact games and skills development. It is 8 weeks of fun in the sun (hopefully!).

For further information please email Sarah Brennan Fallon at girlsrugby@smcrfc.com or sign up for the course “Canterbury GIAT” through the link below:
