This spring Grace Community Church in Huntsville, Alabama celebrated Schylar Reed's completion of his formal training at The Expositors Seminary. But his preparation for ministry isn't done. In a seamless transition to a ministry internship under his leaders, Schylar is continuing to learn what it means to shepherd God's people while being mentored by seasoned shepherds.
Pastor Paul Lamey has been shepherding the flock of God at this church for nearly twenty years. In mentoring Schylar, Pastor Paul bears out his conviction that “it is the church’s responsibility to recognize and train the next generation of leaders. Though a seminary education is invaluable, such should be viewed as a supplement and not a substitute for training within the local church. Pastors must own the responsibility to train men in their church for ministry, equipping them for the task while affirming their character and ability.”
Below is a link to Pastor Paul's interview with Schylar on his training at TES and his next steps of training in a ministry internship. We trust you'll be encouraged to hear how Schylar plans to minister the gospel in the future.
