February 2021
Welcome to the New Year!

While we did literally ‘turn the page’ on January 1 to New Year, as February rolls forward, it’s a new year for our Congregation. The Church’s annual meeting was held on January 31st, with approval of our 2021 budget and election.
Elected Church council members:
First term: Lynne Buckingham, Penny McConnell and Don Bennett,
2nd term (20/21/22) Trudy Tibbits
Head Usher: Mark Mitchell
Church Clerk: Deb Ivey
Sunday School Superintendent: Trudy Tibbits and Mary Dunn
UCC Association/Conference delegates; Kandy Keuler Dick Josh.
It also serves as good time to refresh individually as to how you choose to be involved in the life of the church – serving on a committee, helping with events, fundraising activity, reaching out to one another, attending worship. Please contact the church office:
mpucchrist@gmail.com or 987 2025, or any of the Council members with questions, or ways you would like to help.

February will be our last month of service from Pastor Bev Davis, as our supply Pastor, we appreciate her commitment and service to us from April 2020 to present. The Church Council is in process of seeking an interim Pastor for our congregation to begin the next steps of discernment for our congregation, profile creation, and eventually search for a settled pastor.

Lenten Season begins on February 17th with Ash Wednesday – Please note your calendar! This will take place differently this year, watch for update detail announcements.  (Easter Sunday is April 4th)

Mission/outreach
Community Meal: Plans are in place for a community meal to be served on Weds, February 24th, 5 to 6pm. This will be on a curbside/delivery basis only. Contact Dick Josh with questions regarding this month’s meal.

A ‘Thank you” message has been received from Church World Service, see below.

Dear Friends:

Through your purchase from the CWS Best Gift catalog, you've given a different kind of gift--one that goes far beyond you and the recipient and will touch lives around the world. Thank you for your generous contribution, which we appreciate more than ever in these challenging times.

Your support means so much. You are helping families overcome the hurdles of poverty and to be more resilient in the face of uncertainty. You are ensuring a brighter, healthier, fuller future for children. You are walking with those who are facing their darkest hours.

Gifts like yours help communities access clean, safe water. They ensure that women have the skills that they need to earn an income and feed their families. They help struggling farmers improve their harvests. They provide comfort and hope to people who have been affected by disaster, conflict and pandemic.

We are deeply grateful for your support. Thanks to your compassion, we can--and will--change lives.

Sincerely, tried Rev. John McCullough President and CEO Church World Service
