Join the 2017 Great American Cleanup of PA - Registration opens on January 15 for the 2017 Great American Cleanup of PA which runs from March 1 through May 31. Help make your community clean and beautiful and register an event at www.gacofpa.org. Affiliate Capacity Grants - Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful is offering a limited number of capacity building grants to Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful Pennsylvania affiliates. Maximum grant amount is $1,000.  Deadline is January 31. Contact Heidi Pedicone at 877-772-3673 for more information.

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Offers Affiliate Training -
Affiliate coordinators, staff, and board members are invited to attend training on March 15 at the Crowne Plaza - Harrisburg. 2017 training topics will include:
  • Legislative Update for the Covered Device Recycling Act and Act 101
  • Pulling Back the Curtain on Enforcement: Panel Discussion with AGs Office, DEP BOI and DEP Regional Representatives
  • Successful Case Study on Illegal Dump Free PA in Michaux State Forest
  • Successful Partnership Models for Old and New Affiliates
A limited number of scholarships are available. Contact Heidi Pedicone. This training counts toward KAB training requirements to be in good standing.

Litter Free School Zone - Keep your school grounds litter free while teaching students about leadership, responsibility and respect for their community and the environment. Contact Stephanie Larson for more information. 


Keep America Beautiful National Conference The 2017 National Conference will be held Jan. 24-26, 2017 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. The National Conference is Keep America Beautiful's premier annual educational and training forum presented for the benefit of the national affiliate network, volunteers and partner organizations. KPB will be presenting their Illegal Dump Free program and how they have gone beyond the cleanup to reduce illegal dumping in PA. Read more.

2016 International Coastal Cleanup of PA - From September through October, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful worked with local groups and organizations to mobilize nearly 14,000 volunteers from 39 counties across Pennsylvania to remove over 860,000 pounds of trash from Pennsylvania’s waterways and coastal regions during the 2016 International Coastal Cleanup event. Cigarette Litter Prevention Program - With a $20,000 grant from Keep America Beautiful, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful partnered with Fish and Boat Commission and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to implement the Cigarette Litter Prevention Program in five Pennsylvania State Parks with recreational lakes including Bald Eagle, Kooser, Moraine, Prince Gallitzin and Pymatuning. A 43 percent combined reduction rate was reported. Read more.


Sheetz, Wawa and Keep York Beautiful Team Up to Improve Local Garden - On October 14, representatives from Sheetz and Wawa worked alongside Keep York Beautiful and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful to reach their goal of restoring, enhancing and strengthening the Hope Street Garden and Learning Lab in York, PA. KPB and Washington County Court System Partnership Removes Over 330,000 Pounds of Trash - This successful partnership, established in 2011, removed 330,435 pounds of trash and 4,229 tires from the Washington County landscape, using the 2005 Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Illegal Dump Survey as a guide.
