AIHA-RMS Student Night
On Wednesday, April 27th AIHA Board Members hosted an AIHA-RMS Student Night at New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, CO. Thirteen graduate and undergraduate students attended and board members shared their stories getting involved in AIHA and the benefits of membership with the students. Appetizers, beer and a wonderful brewery tour were provided by New Belgium and AIHA-RMS. We plan to host another student night during fall semester and hope to have even more students join the local section!

June Lunch & Learn- EHS challenges of the Boulder Wildfires
On 23 June Bill Hayes from the Boulder County Public Health Department shared his stories and EH&S challenges dealing with the Boulder wildfires. The event, which is part of the Rocky Mountain Section of AIHA’s Lunch & Learn series, was held at CU Environmental Health and Safety Center. The turnout was great and all the proceeds from the event were donated to a fund raising effort for one of Bill’s coworkers who lost her home in the Marshall fire.

Thank you to everyone who attended and a big thanks to those that were able to donate.

COMMITTEE UPDATES

Fall Technical Conference - Alison McGrath
Planning for the 2022 Fall Technical Conference is underway – the conference will be held in-person at the Arvada Center on September 13th and 14th. We are still seeking volunteers for the planning committee; please email Alison McGrath at president-elect@aiha-rms.org if you are interested. Serving on the planning team only takes about 2 hours of time per month, and as a perk volunteers are eligible for reduced admission to the conference!

The FTC abstract submission form is also live and has been simplified. Consider submitting an abstract today, or sending the link along to someone you know who would be a great speaker for our local section.
