New Posts & Updates!

Hey all!

It's probably been a while since you subscribed to email updates from my site and you probably forgot all about it since email updates have been a bit haphazard to say the least.  That's been at least partially due to some tech challenges which I think I have a handle on now so you should be seeing updates more regularly when I publish new writeups.  So tell your friends!

Since they've been stopped up a little while here's the last month or so's worth of updates.  Enjoy!  And as always I'd love to hear any feedback or suggestions either directly via email or comments on my site.

Dyadic Point & Tensor (aka Aqua BM) Joshua Tree

It was supposed to be a weekend spent sitting around at home catching up on things but I just couldn't.  So instead Kristen and I climbed a challenging 3rd class peak east of Joshua Tree!

Deep Creek Hot Springs In San Bernardino

Deep Creek Hot Springs in San Bernardino was a perfect recovery day after a rough climb the day before.

Picacho Peak Near Yuma With A Big Group

Picacho Peak down near Yuma is a technical peak requiring 3rd class climbing, ascending a rope, and multiple rappels!  And Jack Kieffer and I decided to lead it with a sizable group just for fun.

USGS Little Picacho Near Yuma

I wanted something short but also 3rd class to do the day after DPS Picacho and we found nearby USGS Little Picacho which provided a fun scramble and spectacular views.

Cerro Pinacate Mexico Margarita Bash Featuring Lava Caves And A Hellish Slog Up Carnegie

A repeat of a trip I ran last year down to a remote corner of Mexico.  Pinacate is a long drive but just a beautiful area and the camping makes for a memorable trip every time.  And it does work as a two day if you really want it to!

Baboquivari Bushwhack From Hell Via Thomas Canyon

Fresh off yesterday's climb of Elephant Dome Jen and I tried to fulfill a long term bucket list item and climb Baboquivari via the multi pitch route approaching from the east.  And failed miserably and painfully!

Elephant's Trunk Route on Elephant Dome Mendoza Canyon Arizona

After a fun but slightly inactive holiday spent visiting family I was dying to get back out and do something!  So Jen Blackie and I made a long haul drive out to the Tucson area and started with a multipitch technical climb of Elephant Dome.
