Project Estimation, Apple and China, Democamp Lansing

Happy New Year <<First Name>>!

I hope your holidays went well. I am still putting together my year-in-review 2018 which I am hoping to talk about in our next episode of okproductive. However I did just finish editing our podcast episode on estimating projects - specifically developing iOS apps.

You can get a preview of the episode here:

In this episode, Theresa and I talk about how the process of going from a customer's idea to a proposal happens.
These also include:
* what features to consider
* how much involvement might be needed to get a proposal
* budgets, timelines and more...

What are some tips, tricks, or pitfalls you've run into with estimating a project? Send me a reply - I'd love to hear your thoughts.
What are some major challenges with running your business? How are you using your Apple devices? Are they helping or slowing you down?
I’d love to hear from you. Send me a reply today.

Apple and China...

Meanwhile a lot of people have been talking about the recent news about Apple and China. In case you need to catch up, here is the letter Tim Cook sent to investors. I don't want to get into it too much now but overall this might be a sign of economic problems with China, but also smartphone tech maturity, and the limits people are willing to pay when it comes to price vs features. Here are some articles to shed light on it:  Let me know your thoughts on this and stay tuned for more from us...
We are available for new projects.
Do you need help with a custom solution for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch? Send me a reply and let me know how I can help.

DemoCamp Lansing is happening...

DemoCamp Lansing is happening this February 20th at the Michigan Historical Museum. DemoCamp Lansing is an un-conference style event where the public gets to present on new businesses they are launching, new product ideas, community projects and much more
We could your help in several ways:
  • We need presenters. Do you have a topic to present on? Fill out our call for speakers by January 20th to be considered. It's a great way to let people know and get considerate and helpful feedback.
  • We need sponsors. Sponsorship not only helps make this event possible, but helps support the Lansing Tech Community. Sign up on our sponsorship form if you are intestered.
  • Spread the word. I will be sending more details soon when registration open but please help spread the word on the event and our search for great speakers and sponsors.
