The event will begin on 21 March with our inaugural women's forum, Women's Leadership - Transforming Business, that highlights an array of inspirational stories from successful women around the region. On 22 March, Canada and ASEAN - Accelerating the Partnership, will feature keynote addresses from industry experts, breakout sessions for specific topics such as Clean Tech, Smart Nations and Global Innovation and great networking opportunities with senior level leaders from Canada and Southeast Asia.

CABC Publication CABC Advocacy Roadmap 2018
The CABC is pleased to share its advocacy roadmap for 2018 that outlines the objectives and priorities of the CABC! It aims to increase trade relations between Canada and ASEAN, facilitate business and supporting education.The roadmap also provides a brief overview of the Council's activities and positions on business and trade issues in the region.

Canadian Release of Full Text of the CPTPP Trade Deal
Minister of International Trade François-Philippe Champagne has announced that after translation and legal review of the text across 11 jurisdictions, the full text of the new Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) has been published. Ministers of all 11 member countries will officially sign the CPTPP on March 8th in Santiago, Chile. CABC Discussion with the House Standing Committee on International Trade 
On February 26, the CABC Executive Committee met with the House Standing Committee on International Trade at the High Commission of Canada to Singapore. A productive and engaging discussion was held with the Committee on topics including:
  • The Canada-ASEAN economic opportunity and its key role in Canada's trade diversification efforts 
  • Increasing Canadian competitiveness in the region/ driving greater awareness of Brand Canada in Asia
  • The importance of driving familiarity for Canadian youth with the Asia opportunity
The CABC looks forward to updating its Members on all future outcomes and next steps from the meeting.

The CABC would also like to thank Export Development Canada (EDC) in becoming CABC's newest Patron Member! The EDC supports and develops Canada's export trade by helping Canadian companies respond to international business opportunities.
