The NEA Big Read is a community-wide reading project that encourages a broader understanding of our world, our community and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. This year’s featured title is An American Sunrise: Poems by United States Poet Laureate Joy Harjo. Broward County Library is hosting a series of Big Read events throughout January.

  • January 26 - Dear Dreamer: Interactive Book Discussion featuring For Every One by Jason Reynolds. Join this lively book discussion and talk openly about following your dreams and share your original art and writing, 5-6PM
  • January 27 - The Cultural Phenomenon of Home DNA Testing, Presented by Libby Copeland, 4-5:30PM
  • January 28An American Sunrise: Poems Book Discussion: Share your thoughts, feelings and opinions with other readers, 4-5PM
  • January 29 - Poetry is Power: A Teen Spoken Word Hour: Join Broward County Library as teen poets show off their original works. Sharing is highly encouraged and​​ welcome from all attendees, 1:30-2:45PM

Pay Fines Online with Your Credit Card

You can now pay library fines online with your credit card. Log into your account using your library card and PIN (last four digits of the phone number attached to library card account), click on the “Fines” tab and scroll down to the “Make Payment” button.
