Free African Artifacts Tours - Virtual AARLCC

virtual aarlccVirtual AARLCC is live and ready for you to visit! Two upcoming 90-minute virtual tours take you on a guided journey through Virtual AARLCC, our online gallery of fascinating, curated items from the Special Collections of Broward County's African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC).

While anyone with computer access can view Virtual AARLCC anytime, 24/7, the virtual tours give an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at these archival artifacts, their stories and their history. This project was funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Florida’s LSTA program is administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services.

Honoring Our Heroes’ Stories – Read-Along with Brad Meltzer

brad meltzerBestselling author Brad Meltzer will share Read-Alongs of his “I AM” books that honor heroes throughout history at a special live reading on the Children’s Services Council of Broward County’s Facebook page.

Brad will also take questions from kids and encourage them to create tributes to honor the heroes in their own lives and in our community – the parents, teachers, first responders, health care workers, volunteers and so many others – helping our community respond to the COVID-19 crisis.
