20th Happy Days on Henderson

A special thank you to all our planning committee, community contributors, community partners and volunteers for making the 20th Happy Days on Henderson one for the books! This event wouldn’t be possible without your help. Last but not least, to the estimated 3000 community members that came, thank you for enduring the hot weather to celebrate with us. See you next year!

Walking for our Seniors

For World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, our CNRC staff walked with the students of Lord Selkirk School to raise awareness for our elderlies!

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is a day to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.

We talked about the importance of respecting our elders and the students wrote down what they love about their grandparents.

Learning from Elder Sharon

On National Indigenous People’s Day June 21, our CNRC staff and members learned about Indigenous culture from an Indigenous elder!

At CNRC, we honour the heritage of First Nations, Métis and Inuit people. Our facility is located in Treaty 1 territory, and we all share the responsibility in reconciliation with Indigenous peoples of this land.

Thank you, Elder Sharon Pelletier for joining our CNRC staff and for sharing your stories. Happy Indigenous People’s Day to all!

Celebrating Pride Month

In honour of PRIDE month, we invited Ashley Smith from Rainbow Resource Centre to talk about the history of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and how programming for 2SLGBTQ+ older adults can save lives.

Thank you, Ashley for your an insightful presentation and discussion! Happy Pride to all!

CNRC is a proud ally of all 2SLGBTQ+ community. We stand for an equal world for all.
