Canyon Creek Brewing

Do you want to be part of the team that makes this race possible? Run! Turkey Run! 2021 planning is starting and we want your help! The Yellowstone Rim Runners have been putting this race on for 10 years and it is organized by volunteers from our club. Not only is this festive race a Thanksgiving Day tradition for many Billings families, but we have also raised $276,000 for local food charities.

Any members who would like to assist with race planning are welcome to our first planning meeting June 6, 2 pm at Canyon Creek Brewing. We are looking for the following new committee members: Volunteer Coordinator and Food Coordinator. Can't join the planning committee, but want to volunteer for the race? We'd love your help! Clothing Sale Coming Soon

YRR anniversary logo Running and Friendship 1981-2021
We are planning a Yellowstone Rim Runner clothing sale. Be on the lookout for an email from us with the details and a link to order online. We'll have options with our standard logo, as well as a specially designed logo to celebrate our 40th anniversary. The anniversary logo was inspired by our old club motto "Friendship Through Running". Thank you Vince Long for designing our logos!

Rim Runners at The Montana Women's Run

Several Rim Runners met at Rocky on a cold spring morning to run the Montana Women's Run together. This year was the 40th Anniversary of the race and it was virtual and we had 6 Rim Runners register for our team challenge. We had even more folks want to run the race together: a good mix of folks doing the 5 and 2-mile races and a mix of runners and walkers. Thanks to Shelley Phelps for creating the 5-mile route for us!

Flagger Training: Scholarships Still Available

In order to secure a permit from the City of Billings to host a road running race, at least one person on the race committee must have flagger training. The Rim Runners are offering a limited number of scholarships to cover the cost of training. The training is available online and takes 4 hours to complete. We ask that scholarship recipients volunteer on at least one Rim Runner sponsored road race, but this training would be valuable to any local race committee. If you have questions or are interested, please email us at
Rim Runners chatting before the group run at Pioneer Park in May. We've had lovely spring weather for (most of) our group runs.
