Only Submitted Membersat time of registration may run for Regional Office.
Regional Officers for each regionwill be elected at the Regional Meetingson Monday Evening during the State Leadership Workshop at Camp Dixie.
Regional Officer Candidates should attendthis valuable training & leadership workshop in order to better prepare for Regional Officer responsibilities such as recruitment and presenting to and motivating other CTE students to become SkillsUSA Members.
Regional Officer Candidates who are unable to attend the SLWshould prepare a candidate video of 30-60 seconds and send it along with the Regional Officer Application packet identified above to the SkillsUSA NC State Office:info@SkillsUSAnc.org no later than the deadline below. Your candidate video will be presented during the Regional Meeting prior to the voting.

Membership Recruitment Contest - September Challenge

SkillsUSA partner CHANNELLOCK has launched a “Trades 101” website that highlights the incredible benefits of a skilled trades career.
On the site, students can explore trade schools, tips for choosing the right trade and steps to enter a trade field. In addition, CHANNELLOCK is holding a Trade School Trade-Up national initiative aimed at giving CTE programs across the country a chance to win shop makeovers and tools to foster learning success. Contest entries are due by Oct. 12.
SkillsUSA Technical Fridays
Join us for “Technical Fridays,” SkillsUSA’s workshops led by industry experts helping teachers develop specific technical skills relevant to their career fields of interest. Leave the sessions with a new skill to implement in your classroom. Learn more about the workshops here. On Sept. 30, from 3-4 p.m. ET, we will be joined by Linnell Burton, a certified crime scene investigator, anti-terrorist crime scene instructor, and a founder of Blueprint Camp LLC. Her session was delivered at the 2022 SkillsUSA University in Atlanta and earned a 98% “highly recommended” rate. Workshops are free of charge. Register here (limited spots are available). Plan Now for Manufacturing Day
Many SkillsUSA chapters participate in Manufacturing Day, a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation. While the 2022 Manufacturing Day is celebrated on Oct. 7, you can hold events on any date in October.
Activities for students may include a plant tour, a virtual industry tour or an event on campus that highlights manufacturing. SkillsUSA chapters should share their Manufacturing Day photos and stories with Hayley Uffelman, SkillsUSA’s social media manager, at email@example.com

Check out the SkillsUSA Recruitment Week resource hub to learn how your chapter leaders can successfully plan activities to engage potential new SkillsUSA members. There are also advisor resources to coach chapter leaders around recruitment and engaging potential new members. Holding a chapter recruitment activity is a Chapter Excellence Program Level 2 indicator, so utilizing these resources can be one extra step in achieving chapter excellence.
Be Part of the Solution to Prevent Hunger
The Foundation for Impact on Literacy and Learning has introduced “Explore.Act.Tell,” a free program funded by the Albertsons Companies Foundation Nourishing Neighbors Program that teaches students in grades 6-12 to become aware of food insecurity issues in their neighborhoods and learn to advocate for community involvement. A series of activities helps students learn about the issues surrounding hunger and food insecurity to develop skills they will use to implement a service project and tell their story in the challenge. Sept. 27 at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. ET. — Professional Membership Benefits. During this session, we will learn how to navigate the SkillsUSA Absorb Learning Management System (LMS) and discover all the resources that you can use. Register through Zoom by finding the session on the calendar here.
Sept. 29 at 3:30 p.m. ET. — Workplace Communication. Learn the skills to deal with difficult situations in the workplace. We will unpack how to strategically approach difficult conversations to maximize success and preserve professional relationships while discovering SkillsUSA resources. The session will provide best practices as well as common pitfalls of difficult conversations.
