SkillsUSA Kick-Off Meetings - THIS WEEK
Now that the school year has started back, it's time again for our SkillsUSA Kick-off Meetings! During our 30-minute meetingswe will:
Start with a brief overview of SkillsUSA
Update you on Costs/Dates/Descriptions/Locations/Times of events we will be having this year
Reveal our 3 new activities that will help every interested chapter become a Quality Chapter
Conclude with a Q & A for any questions you might have.
The Middle School meeting will take place by Zoom on Tuesday, August 30 from 4:00 - 4:30pm.
The High School meeting will take place by Zoom on Thursday, September 1 from 4:00 - 4:30pm. The Postsecondary meeting was held last Friday and the recording is on our website.
Can't make the meeting? Don't worry, we will be recording these meetings and posting them to our website.

Postsecondary State Leadership Workshop - September 30

State Leadership Workshop At Camp Dixie - September 25-27
For High School & CCP students: Our State Leadership Workshop At Camp Dixie September is 25-27! The SLW at Camp Dixie is an intense leadership development event that will energize and motivate your student leaders and provide them dedicated activities and resources to guide their local SkillsUSA chapters for an eventful and successful year! This is the premier Leadership Development Event for your SkillsUSA student officers and leaders. SLW Registration fee for students and advisors is $135-$150. Fee covers workshop sessions, resources, meals, and cabin lodging. The SLW Information & Registration Packet is now available! Western Fall State Leadership Workshop - October 10
For High School, Middle School & CCP students: Our Western State Leadership Workshop is October 10at Asheville Buncombe Tech CC! The Western State Leadership Workshop is a great way to energize and motivate your students as they begin their new SkillsUSA chapter year! The WSLW is similar to the State Leadership Workshop (above), but this is a 1-day event (9am-2pm). Lunch included! The WSLW Information & Registration Packet is now available! Ideal National Championships Electrical Contest
This is an electrical contest for high school and postsecondary electrical SkillsUSA students. Contest location is Lowe's in Mooresville, NC. There is no charge to attend and compete. Plus lots of fabulous prizes!

North Carolina Recognized for SkillsUSA State Standards of Excellence Program Achievement
SkillsUSA’s State Standards of Excellence Program experienced growth in its sixth year. The purpose of the program is to ensure state associations have in place policies, procedures and structure on an annual basis that deliver a high level of service to their membership.
This program serves as a system to allow states to benchmark their performance and determine improvements to become the very best organization for their members. State associations, rather than the state SkillsUSA director, are recognized for achieving State Standards of Excellence. Congratulations to the North Carolina state association for reaching the pinnacle of achievement by successfully completing the Gold level requirements, ensuring continual growth of the association.
2022-23 SkillsUSA Theme - "Our Time Is Now"
Our theme for the new school year is “SkillsUSA: Our Time is Now.” Visit the link for theme art and talking points. This theme will be the topic for the 2023 SkillsUSA Chapter Display, Prepared Speech and Promotional Bulletin Board competitions. It’s time to make the next school year the best in SkillsUSA history!
SkillsUSA Membership Is Now Open - Join Early!
The SkillsUSA member registration site is open for the 2022-23 school year! We encourage advisors to join early so they receive all mailings and emails. Professional members receive these benefits when they join, all delivered to you via email. Be sure to sign up using a valid email address you regularly check!

Program of Work Toolkit includes activity guides, videos and resources to help implement an effective and successful Program of Work.
Jump into STEM!” curriculum provides an opportunity for members to mentor and engage elementary-school and middle-school students in STEM learning.
SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards are the official regulations for the SkillsUSA Championships career competitions (available in early October).
E-Courses and Advisor Professional Development provide a variety of training options.

Save The Date For ELEVATE !
SkillsUSA Elevate’s Chapter Officer Development Conference is Oct. 19 from 11am - 4:30pm. Plan now to attend this virtual interactive experience for local officer teams that focuses on building successful chapters by equipping officers with the skills to lead and serve their local members. Elevate is open to all SkillsUSA local chapter officers. At least one advisor is required to participate with each registered team. Participate right from your classroom. The cost is $10 per participant. Additional information will be provided soon.
