1. Assessment and Moderation updates and reminders

FAO: Primary Stage
From: Clare Haywood, Moderation Manager, Learning, Skills & Education

Moderation - Almost all the KS1 and KS2 moderation visits have now taken place and the feedback from schools and moderators has been extremely positive - thank you to everyone involved for their hard work.  Please could you send your feedback to chaywood@childrenfirstnorthamptonshire.co.uk if you had a visit and have not already sent your feedback to the LA.  We take the feedback into account when planning for the next academic year.

Submitting key stage 2 teacher assessment - STA have published key stage 2: submitting teacher assessment data guidance for 2019.  Schools should submit teacher assessment (TA) data directly to STA using NCA tools.

Schools are required to report TA for English writing and science for all pupils. For pupils working within the pre-key stage standards or P scales, schools are also required to report TA in English reading and mathematics.  All submissions must be made by Thursday 27 June.

FAO: All
From: Northamptonshire Sport

This annual national campaign run by the NSPCC looks to increase positive parental involvement in youth sport and, by doing so, improve the experiences of young people across the UK.

This year's aim is to get parents to make the Sports Parents Promise to encourage their child's safe enjoyment of sport.

This 3-point promise highlights how you can be a great sports parent. The aim is to get parents to sign up to the promise

Make the Sports Parents Promise
As a positive sports parent, I make these promises to my child(ren):

  • I promise to make sure the club we choose together is safe and fun
  • I promise to listen to you if you have any concerns about your sport
  • I promise to make sure that I always support you and your teammates in a positive way

What schools can do

  • Include a link to the campaign and Sports Parents Promise in any email correspondence that goes out to parents
  • Share the campaign on your social media channels or in any social media groups you have with parents
