Might as well with interactive web projects I've collected.

Mix it up

Sounds and maps seem to be the general theme of this grab bag of intriguing sites. This photo-audio-mashup has been a favorite of mine for months. I've been saving the soundboard and finally have a good opportunity to share it. I find it satisfying, beautiful to look at and enticing -- it's hard to stop clicking and matching up different keys and photos. Give it a try -- it feels so good!

Beautiful mess

  • A true map: I can play with this forever. See how many Delawares fit in Botswana or see how long Chile really is. (H/T to Ann Friedman for flagging this on her weekly newsletter earlier this summer.)
  • Finally -- long distance relationships mapped! Atlas Obscura shows us how far people are willing to be apart for love (or something like that).
  • Email a tree! It doesn't get more random than this. Thanks to the city of Knoxville, Tenn., for making sure all the wannabe urban arborists can get in touch with the city forestry.
  • WSJ's topographical graphics map out the middle class in major US metros. And they are cool to look at while visualizing years' worth of data.
  • Get artsy at the Tate in London with this interactive video -- you don't just sit back, you're deciding what happens next.
Keep up
