Principal Points......

Hello Silverado Families,

Thank you to everyone who has donated items for our new program, Bear Treasures.  We have already been able to help many families with items they need. I am so happy and proud of our community for the outpouring of compassion and generosity.  A huge thank you to Mrs. Libby for working with a group of Silverado parents to make the vision of Bear Treasures a reality.

Thanksgiving break begins next week.  When we get back on December 2, we will only have a short three weeks until Christmas break.  The staff and I are going to work hard to keep the students focused, engaged and learning up until the very end, and we really need your support from home as well.  Please do your best to get your child(ren) to school on time, and try to schedule appointments after the school day ends. Our teachers plan meaningful and educational lessons for the students.  When your child is not at school he or she misses out greatly.

Enjoy the break, and happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  Feel free to contact me if you ever have any ideas, questions or concerns.

Go Bears!

                        A Note from Mrs. Davis:
At the beginning of November we had our Digging for Excellence Student Recognition. This is a program to motivate and encourage students by recognizing and rewarding excellence in school. The program is designed to promote and recognize academic achievement and improvement. The success of the program is based on power principles that give the program its life and energy: performance and pride. The Silverado Digging for Excellence Team works with staff, students, and our PTA to plan recognition events and provide tangible incentives to reward and acknowledge excellence in school. Students are recognized for their achievements through the following levels of academic performance. Tickets are given to recognize the following levels:

• Gold - Superintendent’s Award – 4.0

• Silver - Principal’s Award – 3.5 -3.99

• Blue - Honor Award 3.0 – 3.49

Students were able to use these tickets for drawings of gift cards (donated by our generous PTA) and pizza lunches, CUB cart rides to class, mile and tardy passes, picking a song to play during lunch, spin the wheel for Silverado spirit items, and of course food treats!

The next Digging for Excellence will be after trimester 2 in March. At that time we will also be recognizing students whose GPA went up from the  first trimester.

                      A Note from Mr. Nielsen:

Happy Holidays everyone! Just a quick reminder for all athletes to make sure to have sports physicals updated each year. If you are having issues getting into your doctor in a timely fashion, you can use Jenna Land from A Perfect Curve Chiropractic for $35 cash. Just print out your physical document from Appryse and bring it in. We will be starting wrestling in December (6th graders are allowed to wrestle) and girls basketball in January. Encourage your students to continue to work hard in the classroom. I hope the holidays treat you well. Thank you!

The lost and found bin in the MPR is overflowing!  It will be cleared out during winter break!  Make sure you check it for lost items!!
PLEASE NOTE!!
Yearbook and dedication deadline is approaching!
Please make sure you don't get left out!
