Pottageville Time TrialReport- Held on Tuesday April 30th
Tuesday at 7:00, the first Time Trial of the season was held on the 14 km Pottageville course. It wasn't too bad an evening as the road was dry for a change. The sky was overcast and it was a cool 8C temperature. There was a very light wind so conditions for the TT were good. Despite the weather conditions, 9 riders came out last night to launch the season.
Zak "The Attack" Jackson was the fastest rider with a sizzling time of 21:24.3, at an average speed of 39.25 k/h on our toughest course. Peter Henry was second with a 21:53.8, and in third place with a time of 22:16.6 was Mike Grimes riding a fixed gear track bike. Dan Lundenberg on a road bike without aero bars did a time of 25:04.5. Our fastest lady was Mikki Rivers who rode in with a time of 30:18.4. A new rider Rick Zalewski riding in his first TT with our club came in at 25:02.9. Jan Jensen's time was not to his usual standard as he is recovering from broken ribs incurred from a fall at work. He is a Hard Man.
A good time was had by all and we look forwards to next week. The results are posted below, if you wish to view them on the Webscorer site, enter the ID Number 178299 in the Results section.
Thanks to all our volunteers, Sarah Grimes timekeeping, Tony Osborne, and Lisa Zalewski spotting, and Andrew Edge with John Blunsdon at the turnaround. Also a big thank you to Mike Emerson for the superb line painting on the course. Dave Piece and Andrew Edge will be volunteering next week.
