Thank you for making 2016 an awesome year!

Pisani Recruiting is proud to have grown, both our team and our clients, over the past year. Our unique recruiting strategy coupled with our increasing database of international trade compliance professionals has set us apart from the rest. We could not have done it without YOU. Thank you for the referrals and for trusting us to assist you!!

We had such great feedback from our Annual Salary Survey this past year. Many companies reevaluated salary bands for International Trade teams and many professionals were able to utilize it to help in their current roles.

Our Interviews with Gurus series was a huge hit and we were able to gain greater insight from the best of the best in our industry! If you missed any of the Guru interviews, you can read them all on our blog.

New research shows that time spent on the internal recruiting process has continued to increase over the last three years. On average, HR professionals reported spending almost a month recruiting for open positions within their organization! We want to make sure you don't lose out on a great candidate who accepts a job from another company that makes hiring decisions more quickly. Pisani Recruiting has been able to reduce recruiting time for global trade positions by up to 60% for our clients! Imagine what you would be able to get done if the burden of internal recruiting was off your shoulders!

In the coming year, it is our goal to continue to provide you with the most relevant information on international trade compliance recruiting. Be on the lookout for current salary survey information, webinars and events.

Thank you again for making 2016 so successful. Wishing you much happiness and success in 2017!

Our featured Guru this month is George Weise! George has more than 44 years of international trade and Customs experience in both the public and private sectors. As the former Commissioner of US Customs, Mr. Weise is currently a Senior Advisor at Integration Point.

What is your favorite “career” memory?
There is no question that my fondest career memory is the time I spent as Commissioner of Customs, leading an organization that I loved from my early days as an entry-level staffer. It was an honor to serve with so many dedicated public servants who put their lives on the line every day to carry out their mission and serve their country.

What were some of the biggest lessons that have impacted the way that you work?
I never considered myself to be one of the smartest people in the room, but I always believed that if I worked hard to understand and appreciate the positions of competing interests, I could be successful in finding solutions to problems and building consensus. I have always operated, in both my personal and professional life, on the premise that if you can put yourself into the shoes of the people you are dealing with, you have a much better chance to resolve even difficult issues.

You can read George's full interview and learn more about what makes a successful international trade career on our blog.
