This message talks about our special guest speaker and explains how you may attend the Feb 1st Point Man of Newburgh meeting in-person or on Zoom.
Point Man of Newburgh is inviting you to a special February 1st Zoom Membership Meeting.
What's so special? We are fortunate to have a dynamic speaker, Jeff Struecker, a combat veteran with experience in the invasion of Panama, Operation Desert Storm, Black Hawk Down in Somalia, and more than a dozen tours in Afghanistan and Iraq as our guest speaker through Zoom. (See more about Jeff in the article below). The agenda will also include information on our updated Board of Directors / Point Man of Newburgh organization structure as we work to focus more on enabling our strategies for Direct Support of Veterans, Community Partnerships, and Fund Raising.

About Jeff Struecker
Jeff Struecker was a decorated soldier. At age 18, he enlisted in the United States Army as Infantryman and retired as a Chaplain with over 22 years of active federal service. in 2017, he was inducted into the US Army Ranger Hall of Fame.
He served for ten years in the 75th Ranger Regiment in positions from Private to Platoon Sergeant. While serving in this unit Jeff competed in and won the David L. Grange Best Ranger Competition in 1996. He taught ROTC at the University of Louisville and was recognized in 1998 as the US Army ROTC, Noncommissioned Officer of the year. Jeff spent his final ten years in the US Army serving as a chaplain in Airborne and Ranger units.
Throughout his career Jeff has attended numerous professional military schools and has received many awards and commendations. Some of his awards include the Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Master Parachutists Wings, Military Freefall Master Parachutist Wings, several foreign jump wings and the Combat Action Badge. He has been awarded other commendations and decorations throughout his military career.
His combat experience includes participation in the invasion of Panama, Operation Desert Storm, Black Hawk Down in Somalia, and more than a dozen combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Jeff has been awarded medals for valor in combat and has received many medals as recognition for his service in the US Army.
Jeff holds a Ph.D. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He also has several other earned and honorary degrees.
Jeff is an award-winning author with five books in print. He and his wife, Dawn, have five children and three grandchildren.
There are two attendance options. The meeting will combine an in-person meeting at the Epworth United Methodist Church and an online meeting through the Zoom app. You may attend either way. (We will not be serving a meal before this meeting).
If you feel safe and you can support our COVID-19 policy, you are welcome to join us in-person at the Epworth UMC. Our COVID-19 policy requires that everyone wear a mask covering their nose and mouth. We also ask that participants practice social distancing with six feet of separation and do not hug or shake hands, please. Seating will be in the sanctuary. Participants should use every other pew, leaving an empty pew between. Hymnals are placed in the pews indicating spaced seating locations for individuals or couples.
The formal in-person meeting will begin at 1830 hrs and end at 1930 hrs at the Epworth United Methodist Church located at the corner of Epworth Road and Lincoln Avenue. (4455 Epworth Rd, Newburgh, IN).
If you feel unsafe or are uncomfortable with our safety policy, we understand. You are welcome to join us on-line.
The online meeting will be opened at 1800 hrs. This will allow new Zoom app users a little extra time to work through questions and for members to chat with each other. Participants’ microphones will be placed on mute when the meeting begins at 1830. They will be unmuted to ask questions or to respond to questions.
