The Veterans Treatment Court NEEDS volunteer veteran mentors to assist our veteran brothers that are involved with complication in the Vanderburgh County Court system.
Mission:
To successfully rehabilitate veterans in the court system using evidence based
treatment to positively change behavior to lead productive, law abiding civilian lives.
Veteran mentors provide a support relationship with Court selected veterans in order to provide a trusted friend who has “been there”. The mentors are an adjunct to the support system provided by Court Case managers, the VA Mental Health Department and other agencies.
Mentors are assigned to maintain contact weekly to help his/her assigned veteran mentee through the sometime difficult pressures of their rehabilitation. Mentors are not expected to be a counselor, financial supporter, or chauffeur of mentees. Mentors are expected to be available to mentees as a friend.
