Board Discusses Point Man Vision

Point Man Members,

On Monday, November 2nd, the Point Man of Newburgh and our new Executive Director met. Dr. Robin Sanabria discussed her Southern Indiana roots, her military family, and extensive history of veteran support. She is a long time fan of Point Man of Newburgh.

Dr. Sanabria originally had been asked to provide referrals for the new Point Man Executive Director position. After much prayer and a genuine desire to serve veterans, she asked to be considered personally for the position. Bringing her on board as the Executive Director was a "no brainer"  and a positive step for Point Man.

She did not waste any time researching our organization's history, activities, and projects. Her detailed report was extensive. The focus of the meeting and her vision centered around three critical, interconnected elements:
1) Direct Support Programming
2) Community Service Projects/Partnerships
3) Fund Raising Projects
We'll cover more on this as plans are developing.

The Point Man of Newburgh board will take up some of the project discussions in the November 12th meeting.

"Vets helping Vets"

Veteran's Court Needs Volunteers!!

The Veterans Treatment Court NEEDS volunteer veteran mentors to assist our veteran brothers that are involved with complication in the Vanderburgh County Court system.

To successfully rehabilitate veterans in the court system using evidence based

treatment to positively change behavior to lead productive, law abiding civilian lives.

Veteran mentors provide a support relationship with Court selected veterans in order to provide  a trusted friend who has “been there”.  The mentors are an adjunct to the support system provided by Court Case managers, the VA Mental Health Department and other agencies.

Mentors are assigned to maintain contact weekly to help his/her assigned veteran mentee through the sometime difficult pressures of their rehabilitation.  Mentors are not expected to be a counselor, financial supporter, or chauffeur of mentees.  Mentors are expected to be available to mentees as a friend.

If you are interested in helping you brother veterans on the path too a better life, or simply wish more information

Yesterday at 4:50 PM
Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to bring home a hero! And thank you to everyone who came out to see the Tarheel Hal fly into Evansville!

The mission to bring this aircraft home is still not over! It’s here and will soon be in the Evansville Wartime Museum, but we still need to raise money to keep it here permanently! If you want to make a donation to the foundation as it works to continue raising money for the Tarheel Hal please reach out to a board member or donate on our website.
