Meet XingXing Shou:

“Hi! My name is XingXing Shou, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I’m from Chicago. I’m currently a sophomore at Brown University studying Architecture and Public Policy. I’m interested in public education in urban areas, design for social good, and grassroots architecture. In my free time, I love to dance and build things like furniture or earrings. Although I am unsure what exactly I want to pursue, I know that I want to stay grounded in my community and fight for younger generations of Asian Americans. I am really excited and grateful to be able to meet fellow AAPI students and professionals involved in political advocacy and social justice work, as well as AAPI artists using art for advocacy at this year’s OCA National Convention!”

OCA Greater Chicago is seeking donations to sponsor XingXing Shou, a Brown University student, to attend the OCA National Convention in Houston June 27-29. Donations will go directly to OCA Greater Chicago to cover her convention registration, airfare, transportation, and hotel.

The OCA National Convention brings together students, working professionals, thought leaders, and community members of all generations for three days of workshops, activities, and plenaries. Through learning and connecting with each other, attendees are able to take their experiences back to their local communities to lead and uplift others.

We know there are a lot of worthy fundraisers out there competing for your dollars. We hope you can spare some to help us send XingXing to the conference and help us develop the next generation of AAPI leaders. They are our future!
