Kasko Monster is Ready for Launch

A small step for the insurance industry, a giant leap for Kasko

This is the first in a series of many newsletters solely for our partners and contacts across the Nordic market. We will use these newsletters to give you a quick update on developments of Kasko, provide relevant news from the European insurance market, and also offer some highly speculative reflections and views on the trends we see across European markets that might help shape our common industry in the future.

Perspectives from the future of car insurance distribution

Kasko has released what we have called the “Kasko Compilation of Articles”; a compilation of articles and reflections on the future of retail property and casualty insurance distribution in the Nordics. The six different articles draw on a number of experiences from various European markets that are or have experienced significant changes in consumer behaviour and resulting insurance purchasing habits, and examples of how the leading insurance companies are adapting to a changing market place.

Kasko believes that the Nordic market will develop in a similar direction as the rest of Europe.

Embraced by the financial press

The Norwegian financial newspaper Dagens Næringsliv has adopted Henrik Matsen – one of the founders of Kasko – as one of their few insurance industry experts, reflecting the lack of PR interested and outspoken people with knowledge of the Nordic and European insurance sector.

Henrik has been quoted frequently in conjunction with both
Tryg and Gjensidige’s quarterly result, as the voice of a changing market place and the many forces working in the interest of smaller and ambitions insurance companies in Norway. This illustrates the marketing power and flexibility of Kasko compared with the more conservative insurance companies in the market.

Red Media Celebrates Award

(Almost) ready for Soft Launch

Kasko has been working towards a soft launch for some time, with the aim of generating a considerable amount of traffic to Kasko.no to start to better understand conversion rates for Kasko and our partners, as well as consumer behaviour on Kasko.no. Red Media Group – which was also recently voted the best media agency in Norway (link to award below) and is a long term partner of Kasko – has developed a performance and digital marketing plan that is expected to generate substantial traffic to Kasko.no for a shorter period of time. The soft launch marketing period will intentionally be short lived, as we reduce traffic to keep improving kasko.no towards a full market launch.

Waiting at a red light

With patience comes a market leading IT platform

During December Kasko will (finally) have fully integrated the first set of partners that will be ready for Soft Launch, and have the benefit of gaining exposure and experience from the early traffic and policies sold through Kasko. The technical integration has taken somewhat more time than originally envisaged as a result of a number of new and/or customised APIs with the different partners. Generally, the experience so far is that the Finansportalen API might not be the correct choice for a “future proof” integration, and we have together with some partners decided to invest more time and resources into building new or adjusting individual APIs that results in a significantly more user-friendly experience and a more robust, stable and cost-efficient performance. Building a solid base for future growth has been a priority. It is now possible to imagine kasko.no as the site stands today as a market leading distribution platform.

Credibility and ambitions reflected by a strong shareholder base

Kasko closed its second fund raise early autumn 2016 to secure continued funding to develop kasko.no into a market leading IT platform. Must Invest AS – an investment company affiliated with Erik Must AS – participated in the fund raise together with other domestic and international investors. Must Invest AS brings a strong network and a number of interests in the Norwegian IT, media and financial industry that Kasko will benefit from, as well as being a solid and financially strong investor for the long term. With the current shareholder base Kasko has access to funding and capabilities for the future that allows Kasko to continue deliver on promises and plans presented to all our partners.
Happy Kasko Monster
