Dear Brokers,
Let’s be proud! June is the official Pride month of the year and AHCT celebrates it! We are going to be present in numerous events across the state and we want to invite you. Please review our outreach section for details about each event.
In addition, this year we will observe Juneteenth National Independence Day, the newest federal holiday in the United States to honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Our office and call center will be closed on Monday, June 20 in recognition of Juneteenth.
Please check out your Broker Page to review previous issues of the newsletter or to learn more about AHCT and also events in your community.
As always, thank you for you continued support.

System enhancements in your AHCT Broker Portal
We have some exiting new updates that have been implemented into the AHCT Broker Portal with the deployment of our latest release! Please see description below:
- Enhanced Client Reporting Functionality
Your ‘My Clients’ page is going to have new features. You will now be able to filter your clients by Active Carrier Enrollment as well as Application Status to give you much greater flexibility when searching clients in your book of business. Most importantly, there will be a new Export button which will save the results of any given search to your device as an excel spreadsheet giving you the ability to run customizable reports of your book of business.
- Immediate Tango Access
With the introduction of the Application Status drop-down you will now to be able to search your clients in several different ways, most notably if they do not yet have an application on file. You will have the ability to select Application Not Started and will now be able to view and assist these clients without additional assistance.

The Broker Spotlight
In this edition we are featuring one of the first agents that joined AHCT, Stephen Hunt.
|
|
Stephen started in insurance in 1996, and in 2000 he went independent, starting “The Hunt Agency Inc” in Avon, CT. His focus has been individual and small group Medical and Medicare products from several major companies. In 2008, The Hunt Agency was purchased by Pawson Associates Inc, located at 31 Business Park Drive in Branford, CT, giving him multiple locations to work from and allowing his clients greater access to other insurance products they offer as Property and Casualty agents. Pawson Insurance has joined Risk Strategies Co in October of 2021 as a member independent retail insurance agency.
|
|
|
From its onset in 2014, Stephen has represented individual and small group plans offered through Access Health CT, and looks forward to doing so in the future. Stephen proudly served in the US Army from 1987 to 1991, and the Connecticut National Guard from 1991 to 1995. He has a BA from Central Connecticut State University.
Fun fact: "There are 169 incorporated towns in CT, and I have recorded a timed road race in each one. It’s a great way to see the whole state close up!"

Reminders for Brokers
- Please update your AHCT broker portal account if for any reason you are not able to help new clients with Special Enrollment Periods. You will find a specific section in your broker portal account that activate/deactivate the option for new customers to find you in our website. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this matter.
- Your first step to report issues and submit escalations to AHCT regarding your clients should be contacting the Call Center. We have a specific group of trained Call Center Representatives that are ready to assist you at 855-805-4325, Option 1. If you need to speak with the Broker Support Department for any inquiries related to your clients or technical problems, please contact us.
- We encourage you to identify the level of the escalation on the subject line like: Priority 1 (urgent medical) and Priority 2 (not urgent). Urgent cases are defined as: 1) Client coverage has terminated 2) Client has Urgent medical needs.
- Please DO NOT provide any sensitive information about your clients, like SSN’s, in the body of your email/escalation.
