Nations of I is a playful album that sprang out of moody alien's work for the MAGAM project; it consists of 3 suites that cover the distance from aleatoric to improvised to composed music. His focus remains on idiophone instruments - only this time the marimbas dominate the vibraphone & glockenspiel and the final outcome is a lot more spacious, minimalistic and at times rhythmical (after all, 2 of these Nations suites had, in earlier stages, been used for a butoh and a dance performance respectively)...
The album features contributions from Jeremy Young, Markus Reineke & Vasilis Bacharidis. The cover artwork was based on maps from Pîrî Reis’ Kitâbı bahriye(1521). POST SCRIPTUM:
Perhaps you'll notice that both our new LPs can't be shipped out before July 21. This is due to Monotype Pressing's contribution to our little celebration: they unwillingly admitted at the very last moment that they will delay delivery by 2 months instead of 2 weeks after all (...and that was that for our joy, after years of effort & anticipation).
Those of you following us on Bandcamp have already heard about this. We hope you can imagine the impact this has on underground, independent artists like ourselves and especially after 15 months of lockdowns and unprecedented restrictions. We can only count on your understanding and support to pull through these impossible circumstances.
