Creekwatcher Currents: November 2017

Good afternoon, Creekwatchers! Well, this is it (for some of you, at least). This will be the final Creekwatcher Currents of 2017; the next edition will launch in February 2018.

As of right now, the only sites that I'm aware of that need to be covered in 2018 are in Laurel. If you are unable to return next year, please let me know no later than EARLY January so that I can recruit for your site(s).

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday season! If I don't see you at the DOTS (December 1, see below) or the Holiday Brunch or at some other occasion, I'll look forward to seeing you in the much brighter light of March.

Thanks, and Happy Adventures NOT Creekwatching!

Beth Wasden
Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator
You're invited to the 2017 Day of the Secchis! We'll be calibrating lines, lines, and more lines (and maybe counting/bagging a few things), but my goal is to complete calibration that day. To that end, I will provide lunch and maybe a few goodies to keep those fingers limber.

I have a few folks signed up, but the more fingertips, the happier we'll all be that afternoon. I have a couple of yardsticks in the office but ask that you bring your own (BYOY). We have everything else, including mountains of Secchi disks and Van Dorns. :)

Let me know if you can help that day.
December 1: Day of the Secchis | 9AM-2PM

January TBD: NWA Holiday Brunch
Thank you 2017 Nanticoke Creekwatchers!
You served over 1,100 hours this year, monitoring our waterways and just generally being rock stars!
That's it for this month's (and this year's) Creekwatcher Currents! Thanks for reading.
